Brand Love - Prada and Miu Miu
Here at Siopaella we love Prada and it's sister brand Miu Miu! Although both brands essentially come from the same place they are completely different! Especially in terms of styles and designs...Here is a few points why we love both Prada and Miu Miu so much!
Prada - The Iconic Saffiano Leather
Something that Prada is most well known for is its iconic Saffiano leather. It was created by Mario Prada and is essentially a textured leather that makes it extremely resistant to scratches. After Saffiano leather was perfected in 1913 they began the production of their very first handbag, 'The Saffiano'. Which is now one of the most iconic bags in fashion history.
A brief history of Miu Miu:
Miuccia Prada first created Prada's sister brand Miu Miu in 1993 with its first boutique opening in Milan. Miu Miu's first runway show at New York Fashion Week in 1995 featured supermodel Kate Moss and this immediately caught the attention of the fashion world. Miuccia Prada herself said that she would describe Miu Miu of more of her personal style than Prada. Personally I think Miu Miu has that little bit more of a youthful style than Prada...but I love them both all the same! <3
Stylist Freya's 5 Fave Bags!

Balenciaga Orange Leather Giant 21 Gold Motorcycle City Bag
As someone who used to not be a big fan of Balenciaga at all my opinion has completely changed the past year or two! The motorcycle city bags are iconic in the world of designer handbags but what I love the most is how amazing they wear. They also now come in every colour and size you could ever want YAY! I absolutely adore the shade of orange this city bag is, how perfect for summer?!
Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 30
Louis Vuitton Speedy's will always be a favourite of mine! I just think they are a bag that will never go out of style but they're also so practical! They're perfect for everyday without being too big that they get in the way. I fit my shoes in my speedy 30 and everything!
Fendi Monogram Shoulder Bag
Fendi is making a huge comeback at the moment and I, personally am LOVING IT! The Fendi 'Zucca' monogram is especially proving to be very popular with celebrities like the Kardashians, Bella Hadid and more! But get on this trend fast and grab yourself a designer bargain while you can because Fendi is becoming more and more popular by the day!
Gucci Blue Velvet Belt Bag
Everyone is loving the bumbag trend at the moment and I have to say they are super handy for holiday and festival season! Gucci are killing it with their collection of bumbags at the moment but there is something about this royal blue velvet one that is to die for. This baby won't last in Siopaella for long!
Chanel Matelasse Mini Leather Flap Chain Bag
You can never go wrong with Chanel..that's my motto! This mini flap is such a nice slightly different take on the classic flaps and it's such a perfect size for the evening! The gold chain adds that little bit more glam and will jazz up the plainest of outfits <3

1. What do you love most about your job at HubSpot?
HubSpot moves at an amazing pace of development and growth but not in a way that things are rushed but rather always staying ahead of the curve by being able to innovate. What I love the most is that because of this environment no day is the same. I feel challenged and inspired to exceed at my job but most importantly I never stop learning - mainly because of the amazing, intelligent people I’m surrounded by every day but also because of the unknown, cool projects I get to work on that allow me make a true impact.
2. Any tips for public speaking and what’s been the largest crowd you’ve spoken to?
Preparation is the most important thing when it comes to public speaking and many people don’t spend enough time thinking that they’ll just wing it. It doesn’t work that way. You need to spend hours on your story, hours on your slides to truly tell it in an unique, authentic way and even more hours on preparing how you’ll say things. But you do need to hit a balance between knowing what you are talking about and not sounding like it’s all being learned by heart. My biggest crowd so far has been at INBOUND16 in front of about 300 people - unbelievable experience!
3. What inspired you to start writing books?
I’ve been running my own blog for six and a half years. I started it with the goal to develop my writing skills and share everything that I was learning during university initially and then when I began my career. It’s that passion for sharing my knowledge that inspired me to write books because ultimately by sharing I feel like I help others. And what better way to do that than a book that’s available all over the world!
4. What is your favourite piece you have gotten from Siopaella?
The Tom Ford shoes!
5. What do you love most about shopping second-hand designer?
That you can discover unexpected items when you really don’t expect it! And many times they are untouched!
6. What is your favourite piece you have in your wardrobe you would never give up?
My Prada bag.
7. Have you gotten to travel to any amazing destinations for work?
Because I’m in a global role at HubSpot and I do a lot of public speaking, I’ve traveled in many places for work but so far South Africa is my top destination! Magnificent nature! Let’s see if my upcoming trip to Australia will top that!
8. Any advice to give to someone wanting to get into sales and marketing?
Do the HubSpot free certifications to 1) see what you are getting into and decide if it’s really for you; 2) elevate your current knowledge and really stay at the curve of the industry - that will impress your new employer.
9. Do you have an item you’ve had on your wishlist and would love to add to your wardrobe?
My next two are a Chanel bag and a Burberry trench coat.
10. Do you have any quotes you live by?
No quotes but I have my own three principles that I live by:
1. Always be learning
2. Always do your research
3. Always follow through

All You Need to Know about Louis Vuitton Date Codes
Here at Siopaella we get asked quite a lot how to tell how old a Louis Vuitton is, where it was made, and of course how to authenticate LV bags. And this can all be found in the date codes yay! We thought we would put together a little blog post to help you learn all about the date codes....
First and foremost...
It is important to note that slightly older LV bags have different date codes to the newer models! Below is a little list of the difference of date codes on slightly older Louis Vuitton bags...
Date codes which will either be a small leather tab or will be engraved into lining of bag . Models produced prior to 1980's have no date codes.
Early 1980's - Three or four numbers with the first two numbers representing the year and last number(s) representing the month. E.g. "836" would indicate a manufacturing date of June, 1983.
Early to late 1980's - Three or four numbers followed by two letters with the first two numbers representing the year, the next number(s) representing the month and the last two letters representing the country (see right sidebar for factory location codes). E.g. "874VX" would indicate a manufacturing date of April, 1987 and factory location in France.
Late in the 1980's - The letters representing the factory location came before the three or four numbers representing the manufacturing date.
Newer models of LV, which you are more likely to see more of, are usually quite similar in terms of their date codes! Here is a list of all the details of LV date codes up to the current date...
1990 to 2006 - Two letters followed by four numbers with the first two letters representing the factory location, the first and third numbers representing the month and the second and forth numbers representing the year.
2007 and newer - Two letters followed by four numbers with the first two letters representing the factory location, the first and third numbers representing the week of the year, and the second and forth numbers representing the year Letters indicate factory location
Where does the bag come from??
