It's fashion month! We've seen what New York, London & Milan have to offer and we're currently in the middle of Paris Fashion Week (bring on Chanel)! But what about our little city? Dublin; home of the black stuff, birthplace of Simone Rocha and streets upon streets of unique boutiques![powr-media-gallery id=8fe53fe5_1506595277]
Last Friday Dublin turned up the heat and hosted a fantastic night of fashion. Looks from not only Irish boutiques and high street regulars but also home grown designers starting out on their fashion design journey. The talent of the Young Designer of the Year was insane! The winner of the award was Naomi Ajetunmobi. Her sheer dress with yellow corset detailing was breathtaking.[powr-media-gallery id=035982eb_1506596375]
That was then followed by a show of epic proportions. It consisted of looks from the likes of Penneys, Om Diva, Brown Thomas, Design House in Powerscourt and of course us. We chose a fringed and glitter Tim Ryan dress that walked down the runway while a girl did aerial silk acrobatics! Goosebumps!![powr-media-gallery id=e1de8279_1506596510]
The night ended on a high with our very own Liz Jones winning best dressed. Of course she was wearing head to toe Siopaedit. It was a stunning matching two piece from Native Youth. You can shop here. Ella also had the lucky gene on the night winning best hair selfie and bagging herself the new Dyson hairdryer!![powr-media-gallery id=10c6332c_1506596595]
A huge thank you to Evoke, Dublin Town, Mor Irish Gin & Dyson for the wondeful night! We're already outfit planning for next year. To see the full collection of looks click here.[powr-media-gallery id=909df958_1506597403]
It's our favourite time of the year. Although summer has come to an end we are excited for the new season. The best way to begin this season? With Dublin Fashion Festival of course!! We began the week at the show were most anticipating; Young Designer of the Year.[powr-media-gallery id=a48633b4_1473953874]The talent in this little country is incredible! It was a feast for the senses. Delicious cocktails in the most beautiful of settings. College Green was the backdrop for the show and was lit up spectacularly. The Young Designer show was followed by a show of some of our favourite designers, showing us their pieces for the new season! The winner of the night was JJ Donnelly of NCAD and was well deserved![powr-media-gallery id=4b4559ad_1473953578]The next evening we headed to Soder + Ko for the Miss Ireland charity runway show. The event was in aid of Eric’s Hero’s and featured all the Miss Ireland finalists strutting their stuff on the catwalk. Another added bonus of this event was the fact that Siopaella pieces were used on the runway and they stole the show (yes we're biased)![powr-media-gallery id=37f92c17_1473953987]On Friday we high tailed it in our heels over to one of our favourite shows, the Creative Quarter show in the stunning Powerscourt Centre. The West Coast Coolers were flowing and the 2016 face of DFF Darren Kennedy hosted the show. There was something for everyone including kids but we think Om Diva stole the show with pieces from their Second Space collection![powr-media-gallery id=3fa7bcc4_1473954130]The show was curated by the wonderful Jules Fallon with make up from No.7 and hair by Davey Davey. Overall the show was filled with beautiful fashion forward looks from the creative quarter all set against a upbeat fun soundtrack.[powr-media-gallery id=d39f101e_1473954246]Ciara & Tanya x
September is a month for change- kids go back to school, shops starting selling Halloween decorations and everyone's rushing out to buy the latest Autumn/Winter trends. But for the Siopaella team, one of the highlights of our September is Dublin Fashion Festival, the launch of which we attended last night!
Dublin Fashion Festival is an annual event that celebrates Irish fashion and our fair city's amazing shopping area. It takes place this year from September 5th-11th, with lots of style savvy events open to the public. Here's how we got on at the launch last night!
We were welcomed by drinks on arrival from one of the sponsors, West Coast Cooler. Galaxy Chocolate (another sponsor) also provided personalised chocolate bars which was such a nice touch. We were all dying to get our hands on one! We tucked into delicious canapés provided by Platform 61 under the gorgeous ceiling of Dublin City Hall- the perfect venue for such a glamorous event.
The fashion show itself began with music by Red Empire Band, getting everyone hyped up for the looks to come. The clothes all came from Dublin retailers like Penneys, River Island and Jervis Shopping Centre, meaning everything was very affordable. Darren Kennedy was revealed as the face of this year's festival- no better man for the job.
Some of the key trends we spotted at the show for the upcoming season are metallics and two pieces. Siopaella stylist Rachel spotted a shiny green suit from Penneys and Anna has her eye on a printed two piece!
We're so excited for the festival to start in September and if you're a fashion fan, we highly recommend you check some of the events out. There'll be on street fashion shows around Henry Street & Grafton Street, customer appreciation nights and even events on the Luas! One of our personal favourites is the Creative Quarter Show in Powerscourt Townhouse. You can check out the prelimanary schedule over on their website here: dff.ie
A big thank you to the team over at Dublin Fashion for a fabulous event and for Elevate PR for inviting us. Also a huge shout out to goodie bag sponsors including Galaxy Ireland, Evoke.ie and Farrier & Draper- we're all delighted with our goodies!

As I'm sure you've all heard by now, Galaxy are this year's sponsors of Dublin Fashion Festival which will be taking place this September. We're hoping it'll be bigger and better than last years with added chocolate goodies! We're already planning our lewks!!
The event was held in the Dean Hotel and was attended by Dublin's fashion royalty including the King and Queen themselves HRH Brendan Courtney and HRH Sonya Lennon.[powr-media-gallery id=dd376c1b_1464704220210]
Stylist extraordinaire Corina Gaffey created some STUNNING looks and we oooh'd and aaah'd over gorgeous floaty maxis from Peter Pilotto, Om Diva and amazing pieces that will be hitting the stores next Autumn/Winter![powr-media-gallery id=91de78b4_1464704616015]
The delicious food wasn't the only thing we were sinking our teeth into! There was a panel of fashion experts chatting all things Dublin style; from fashion faux pas to what individual style means to them. To see some of the event, head over to our Facebook page where we broadcast it live![powr-media-gallery id=e57cd9b1_1464709212585]
